Davido announces sixth studio album ORIADÉ, sets July 31 release date
Afrobeats superstar Davido has announced that his sixth studio album, ORIADÉ, will be released on Friday, July 31, 2026, marking another milestone as he celebrates 15 years in the music industry.
The singer unveiled the project on Monday, June 29, 2026, through a cinematic teaser shared across his social media platforms, where he confirmed the album title and release date while opening pre-orders.

In the announcement, Davido wrote: “ORIADÉ. 31st JULY.”
‘The kingdom expands.”
” Chosen long before the throne.”
” Pre-order my new album now.”
The teaser video presents the award-winning singer in richly embroidered traditional attire, flanked by a throne and a crown, reflecting themes of royalty, destiny and purpose that underpin the forthcoming project.

Speaking about the album in an interview with Billboard, Davido described ORIADÉ as a celebration of his musical journey.
“Over fifteen years ago, I decided to trust something I couldn’t fully explain.”
” I just knew music was my destiny.”
” ORIADÉ is a celebration of the journey that led me to where I am now,” he said.
The singer added that the project reflects his gratitude for helping to elevate African music on the global stage.
“To be in a position where I can help push African music forward around the world is something I’ll never take for granted.”
“I hope when people hear my new album, they understand that purpose doesn’t always follow the expected path.”
“The biggest blessings often come from betting on yourself, even when the destination isn’t in sight yet,” he said.
Davido also revealed that the album represents a return to the sound that first established him as one of Africa’s biggest stars.
“The recent music I’ve been working on is really, really African.”
“I’m taking it back to my original Davido kind of music,” he said.
According to the singer, ORIADÉ derives from the Yoruba words “Ori” (head or destiny) and “Adé” (crown), symbolising identity, purpose and destiny while reflecting his royal heritage from the Adeleke family of Ede, Osun State.
The forthcoming project will contain 13 tracks, making it Davido’s shortest studio album to date, compared with his previous albums, Omo Baba Olowo (2012), A Good Time (2019), A Better Time (2020), Timeless (2023) and 5ive (2025), all of which featured 17 songs.
The album campaign follows the release of the lead single, “I Know Who I Be,” which officially introduced the new era ahead of the July 31 release.
Fans have since flooded social media with excitement, praising the cinematic rollout and eagerly awaiting the official tracklist and featured artistes, which Davido has yet to unveil.
