You Have Failed, Tinubu; Resign or…. – House of Reps Member
Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu has been told resign within the next six months, having failed woefully to meet the expectations of Nigerians.
A member of the House of Representatives, Fred Agbedi, said this on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 during a live television show monitored in Abuja.

His remarks contribute to the ongoing public discourse surrounding the nation’s economic and security issues.
Agbedi expressed his concerns about the government’s approach to governance and the effectiveness of its policies.
He voiced dissatisfaction over the government’s failure to adequately tackle pressing national issues, highlighting widespread hardship, increasing living costs, and ongoing security challenges that have left many citizens feeling let down and seeking stronger leadership responses.
Agbedi, who represents Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency in House of Representatives, noted that there is an increasing sense of urgency among political stakeholders and citizens regarding the need for immediate action to enhance the country’s situation.
He indicated that a six-month ultimatum has been given to President Tinubu to emphasize the seriousness of these issues, asserting that elected officials must be accountable and demonstrate tangible progress in addressing the nation’s challenges.
He pointed out that the ultimatum reflects the growing frustration of those who feel the administration has not fulfilled expectations related to economic recovery, governance reforms, and national security.
The lawmaker asserted that public officials should be subject to oversight and that democratic institutions have a constitutional obligation to respond to concerns about government performance.
During the interview, Agbedi claimed that many Nigerians are grappling with daily hardships and are increasingly demanding concrete improvements from their leaders.

He remarked that citizens anticipated significant advancements with the current administration’s inception, but many now feel those hopes have not been adequately realized.
He further emphasized that lawmakers and democratic figures have a responsibility to ensure that governance aligns with the people’s needs, noting that there are constitutional mechanisms to address issues related to leadership and government accountability when necessary.
“President Tinubu has failed, which is why we issued him a six-month ultimatum; if he does not resign within that time frame, we will pursue all legislative measures.”
This declaration has sparked extensive discussion in political circles, with supporters and opponents of the administration offering divergent perspectives on Agbedi’s evaluation.
While some argue that the government should be afforded more time to implement its policies, others insist that a more effective response to the economic and security challenges faced by citizens is imperative.
