Bonny LG Commences Profiling of Okada Operators
The Chairman of Bonny Local Government, Amasenibo Abinye Pepple has ordered the ban of all unregistered commercial motorcyclists with the area from Wednesday, June 24, 2026.
This order is coming shortly after the council boss directed a profiling exercise of all okada riders in Bonny Local Government for easy identification of all commercial okada riders.

According to a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Wisdom Chapp-Jumbo, on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, all successfully profiled operators will be issued, a unique registration number, an approved safety jacket and a safety helmet.
Furthermore, the prequisites for the documentation includes National Identification Number and Permanent Voter’s Card as the exercise is free of charge.

The Chairman, through the press secretary also noted that registration must be done in person as proximity will not be condoned. Also materials issued by the council is not transferable and no motorcycle owner is allowed to transfer a vehicle to another rider for operation until the rider is registered and Profiled.
To ensure strict adherence, the Chairman has constituted an Enforcement Taskforce under the supervision of the Chief Security Officer, Warisenibo Princewill Christy-Wilcox to oversee and monitor the process.

Consequently, effective on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, all unprofiled commercial okada rider found operating will be impounded and vehicle confiscated, as residents are urged to engage only profiled operators.
