Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Special Services Bureau in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Samson Dede, Fubara stated that his administration’s “Rivers First Agenda” remains focused on promoting peace, prosperity, and improved welfare for all residents, including corps members.

He emphasised the government’s continued support for the NYSC scheme, assuring corps members of a conducive environment throughout their service year.

The governor also urged the corps members to take advantage of the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, encouraging them to participate actively in all camp activities.

In his earlier remarks, the NYSC State Coordinator, Moses Oleghe, described the posting of corps members to Rivers State as a valuable opportunity for personal growth and self-development.

He commended the state government for its support, particularly the donation of 2,500 new mattresses to improve the comfort of corps members at the camp. Oleghe added that Rivers State has increasingly become a preferred destination for corps members across the country.

He also expressed appreciation to security agencies, host communities, transport unions, and other stakeholders for their continued support for the scheme.

A total of 3,512 corps members, comprising 1,572 males and 1,940 females, were sworn in during the ceremony by the Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Sam Amadi, who was represented by Justice Prince Mini.
