The limitless potentials and invaluable contributions of women to societal development will dominate discourse at the 2nd edition of the Annual Women Conference organized by the Bonny Women Forum which is billed for this weekend in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Plans are now being concluded for the Conference scheduled to hold on Saturday and Sunday, December 21 and 22, 2024 at the Bonny Women’s Hall, 54 King William Dappa Pepple Road, Bonny, Rivers State, by 11am and 4pm respectively.

Woman Leader, Bonny Kingdom, Helen Pepple

In a telephone chat with Kristina Reports, Women Leader of Bonny Kingdom, Helen Pepple stated that the conference aims at “harnessing the potentials of women within the context of today’s world, foster unity among ourselves and reiterate kingdom values”.

According to her, the annual convocation will feature trainings, interactive sessions, economic empowerment, report presentation, and a dinner night.

She explained that the essence of the conference is to galvanize the women to identify and articulate their potential, understand the dynamics of today’s world and build their capacity for delivery of premium value to support societal development.

Calling on the indigenous women of Bonny Kingdom both home and in the Diaspora, Pepple, who hold the Bonny traditional title of Amaopuorubo, urged them to make this year’s conference more memorable than last year’s edition by attending en masse through their various Houses.

She thanked all relevant stakeholders for coming through for the women, noting that their sustained support for the conference has ensured several women benefitted from the varied programs which form part of the conference.

Expected at the conference are notable personalities including the Chairman of Bonny LGA, Anengi Wilcox and other distinguished women who have acquitted themselves creditably in their various fields of endeavour.
