Honour for Bonny Kingdom as Business Mogul, Dr. Dan-Jumbo Bags Fellow, Nigerian Society of Engineers

Bonny Kingdom in Rivers State, Nigeria is in the news again as one of its esteemed sons, Dr. Fubara Dan-Jumbo was conferred with Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE), which is the highest title among engineers in Nigeria.

Dr. Dan-Jumbo, who is the Group Chairman, DavFub Group of Companies, was conferred with the prestigious title on Monday, November 18, 2024 by the National President of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Margaret Oguntala, FNSE, FNSChE, in Abuja.

Reacting to the conferment, Dr. Dan-Jumbo, who is also the President of G30 Ibani Voice, a socio-political pressure group and organizers of the prestigious N2 million Prize King/Queen of Mathematics Contest, described it as “a major milestone”, adding that “it is interesting to be honoured with a prestigious fellowship award”.

“It is a major milestone, particularly, for me as an engineer, whose active participation spreads over 25 years in the field of Engineering, supporting in building NLNG’s Trains 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7, with other Multi-Phase Engineering projects in London and South America.”

“My originality of knowledge contribution in Concrete Engineering with publications in over 23 international journals.

The former lecturer at Coventry University, Coventry, United Kingdom, who predicated his successes to hardwork, dedication and passion, asserting that he has paid his dues in the field of Engineering both in Nigeria and in the Diaspora, expressed optimism to utilize his new status to make greater and more robust contribution to the field of Engineering.  

“Like I will always borrow the words of Mike Murdock you do not have the right to own anything you have not pursued, the proof of desire is in pursuit.”

“Have I worked hard in this field? Yes! I have my numerous contributions to this field which speaks volumes.”

“So, I am indeed excited as I have paid my dues in Engineering, looking forward to use the new status and make meaningful impact on achieving a more robust quality engineering participation of our company Davfub Nigeria Ltd.”

Checks by Kristina Reports indicates that a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) is a distinguished member of the society who has met certain requirements such as being a corporate member of the NSE for at least 10 years, have at least 15 years of post-qualification experience, registered with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and have an active practicing license.

He or she must have also written and presented four technical or management papers at the NSE or other acceptable fora within the last 10 years, have worked on outstanding projects, have attended yearly refresher engineering courses or workshops, be active in their branch and division activities, show evidence of consistent payment of dues to the NSE within the last five years, and have two referees who are also Fellows of the NSE and in good financial standing.

Fellows of the NSE have all the privileges of a member, plus additional privileges conferred by the Fellowship category. They can vote at the AGM and aspire to any positions in the society.

The NSE, however, reserves the right to revoke a fellowship certificate if a member breaches professional codes or ethics.
