Chairborne Global Services Limited (CGSL) says it was focused on having cordial relations with its host communities and adhering to environmental best practices.
Group Business Development Manager of CGSL, Christopher Dirisu said this in an interview with Kristina Reports on the sidelines of its meeting with the Bonny Environment Consultants Committee (BECC) on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Disiru stated that the fast growing indigenous oil servicing, engineering and construction company was well acquainted of the strategic role of its host communities and the big wins inherent in a mutually beneficial relations with them, stressing that the panacea to hostility from host communities was positive disposition from corporate organizations.
“For us, Bonny Kingdom and its inherent communities are our hosts and we are not unmindful of the welcome disposition they have accorded us upon our arrival. We are poised on ensuring that we reciprocate this benign gesture by ensuring with maintain cordial relations with the Kingdom and her people.
On the meeting with BECC, the Chairborne Group Business Development Manager said it was in furtherance of its corporate compliance with environmental best practices, noting that “given that our project is environmentally impactful, it was important that we engage with the relevant stakeholders charged with the responsibility of managing the environment in Bonny LGA”.
“As you know, BECC is in charge of managing the environment in our operational environment, so it was incumbent on us to engage with them and fashion out a template for working together so that we do not negatively impact the environment and be at crossroads with them”.
“So far, the King of Bonny, His Majesty, King Edward Pepple III has been very encouraging to us; he has made it very easy for us to touch base with our operational environment and also the hospitality we have enjoyed with the good people of Bonny Kingdom is tremendous. We appreciate it and we will reciprocate in kind.”
