Security Forces Rescue Octogenarian from Kidnappers

Security operatives in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State have rescued an 81 year old lady from her abductors.

A top security source in the State, who preferred anonymity, confirmed this in a telephone chat with Kristina Reports.

The source disclosed that the Marine Police assisted by sister security agencies, upon receiving intelligence report of the incident deployed their operatives who swung into action and arrested some of the suspects and freed their captive.

Also confirming the development to Kristina Reports, Chairman of Bonny LGA, Dame Anengi Barasua, said her administration was committed to the security of lives and properties of residents of the area.

The Bonny LG Boss praised the exceptional gallantry and operational dexterity of the security operatives displayed in the operation that led to the rescue of the victim.

Kristina Reports learnt that the octogenarian (name withheld) was abducted from her home in Peterside Community at about 20:00 hours on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, but was rescued from her abductors on the night of Thursday, December 2, 2021.

Kristina Reports can confirm that the victim has since been reunited with her family after 72 hours in the hands of her assailants.

Kristina Reports findings indicate that the security agencies swiftly deployed their operatives in pursuit of the kidnappers that led to the rescue of their abductee.

A knowledgeable source within the security circle in the State, who does not want to be named, disclosed to Kristina Reports that one of the suspects, who reportedly hails from Ngo Town in Andoni LGA, has been handed over to the Anti-Kidnap Unit of the State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution.
