The Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Dame Anengi Barasua has been described as a “woman on a transformation mission” and a “generational impact maker” and called upon to sustain the trajectory of good governance her first days in office have shown.
This position is coming from the Managing Director of Evomec Global Services Limited, Chief Peter Esievo, who congratulated the newly inaugurated Chairman on her emergence as the first female Executive Chairman of Bonny LGA, which follows closely on the heels of her previous record of being the first female Vice Chairman of the LGA.
In an online chat with Kristina Reports, Chief Esievo expressed his company’s readiness to work closely with the current leadership of Bonny LGA under Dame Anengi Barasua to achieve her developmental vision for the area, noting that this was in furtherance of the company’s commitment to partner with relevant stakeholders to fast-track development in its various host communities.
The celebrated philanthropist, whose company has continued to execute projects and programmes in line with its corporate social responsibility (CSR) to impact lives and empower people, expressed excitement that in Dame Barasua, Bonny LGA was on the threshold of impactful development and economic growth given her four point agenda of Security, Sanitation, Capacity Building and Infrastructure.
“Obviously, she knows what she wants to do and where she wants to take Bonny LGA to; her very first steps have already defined her as a woman on a transformation mission and clearly, she is a generational impact maker.”
“Let me, on behalf of the Management and staff of Evomec Global Services Limited congratulate her, the Vice Chairman and Secretary of the Council on their elevation and upliftment by God Almighty. Big kudos to them.”
“We’re optimistic that she will do well; as you can see, she already has a four point agenda, meaning that she has set her own marking scheme. This is someone that knows what she wants to do.”
“We at Evomec have been partnering with the Local Government and would continue to do so now that she is in charge. Wherever we are called upon to assist, we shall not hesitate to respond. We thank His Majesty, the King of Bonny for the opportunity of doing business in this kingdom that has been a blessing to us.”
Evomec Global Services Limited recently awarded scholarships to some students of Bonny origin that will see them through secondary school to a first degree in the university wherein it paid an initial sum of about N4 million to their schools. The company also empowered three youths of Bonny origin with N500,000 each to start any business of their choice.
These were preceded by donation of school textbooks, teaching aids and other forms of support to various schools in the LGA. The company has also sponsored several sporting tournaments and social impact programmes across the LGA since its arrival in Bonny LGA.
