The Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Obinna Anyanwu says his administration will not be distracted in its quest to provide purposeful leadership that is anchored on giving life to the aspirations of the people and entrenching a development paradigm in the area.
He further said the sterling achievements of his administration that has made Etche LGA prominent in the comity of progressive LGAs in the State are verifiable.
Anyanwu came out with this position after a video made the rounds on social media purporting that Education had been abandoned in the LGA.
“Dr. Anyanwu’s performance in other areas such as security, health, electricity, and human capital development remains top-notch and he is undeterred in delivering quality and good leadership style like his political leader, H.E. Nyesom Wike is doing in Rivers State.”
In a statement issued on his behalf by his spokesman, Oluo Robinson, on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, and made exclusively available to Kristina Reports, the Etche LGA Boss indicated that the 19 Wards in Etche LGA had gotten a touch of project delivery by his administration.
in the statement, Anyanwu noted that the projects in the respective Wards were unanimously nominated by its people as their priority development needs at the time.
“Etche is among the largest Local Government in Rivers State and it is not possible for all the demands of the people to be met at once. For this reason, the council chairman, Dr. Obinna Anyanwu deemed it necessary to roll out projects the people needed in each of the nineteen wards in the area.”
The statement added that “it is on record that Dr. Anyanwu has repeatedly said that he will continue to justify the confidence reposed on him by the electorates through the execution of ‘people-oriented projects’ across the nineteen political wards in Etche.”
The statement clarified that Igbodo community in ward 14 where the dilapidated school was spotted, rightly nominated for their school to be rebuilt which according to the statement has been started and is nearing completion after which the pupils will be relocated for good, justifying why other Wards as well deserve government attention.
“Igbodo community currently has an ongoing school project embarked on by the Chairman, hence the need for other Wards to get theirs.”
The statement concluded that the projects embarked by the Anyanwu administration would be delivered in record time, assuring that the administration was not playing politics with the development of Etche Local Government Area.
