Waterwell Killing: Bonny LG Chairman Reads Riot Act to Criminals

In the aftermath of the incident at the NLNG Waterwell area of Bonny Island that claimed the life of a private security guard, the Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, David Irimagha has vowed to decisively deal with the perpetrators and ensure that they pay for their actions.   

Irimagha stated this in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Williams Ogba-Agwu titled “Bonny LG Chairman Vows Decisive Action on Perpetrators of Waterwell Incident”, and made available to Kristina Reports on Saturday, August 7, 2021 in Bonny.

He asserted that his administration remains a people-oriented government that is committed to human rights, rule of law and security of lives and properties of the populace, stating that the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and other law enforcement agencies were on top of the matter to fish out and prosecute those responsible for the incident.  

The Bonny LGA boss, who maintained that no amount of distractions would make him abandon his constitutional responsibility of protecting the citizens under his domain, pledged to work with relevant stakeholders ensure that everyone is safe and secure in the area.

“BONNY LG CHAIRMAN VOWS DECISIVE ACTION ON PERPETRATORS OF WATERWELL INCIDENT

The Executive Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. David Rogers Irimagha has vowed to deal decisively with the perpetrators of the incident that occurred at the NLNG Waterwell 6 in the early hours of Saturday, August 7, 2021, that resulted in the death of a private security guard, one Joseph John, a native of Nasarawa State, residing in Bonny LGA.

The current administration of Bonny Local Government Council remains a people-oriented government that is committed to our avowed respect for human rights, rule of law and security of lives and properties of the populace, we shall not abandon our constitutional responsibility no matter what happens.

The security agencies in Bonny LGA are currently on top of the situation and working with relevant stakeholders will get to the root of this dastard act and fish out the perpetrators of this act and ensure they face the full wrath of the law.

Let me assure the people of Bonny LGA and all stakeholders of your safety and security and urge you all to remain calm and go about your lawful businesses as the security agencies are on alert to ensure the safety and security of all.”

News broke early morning of Saturday, August 7, 2021 of the assault on a private security guard, Joseph John by yet-to-be-identified thugs, which resulted in his death while receiving treatment at a medical facility, St. Charles Surgery, Akiama, Bonny.
