Evomec Global Services Limited (EGSL) has said that it would continue to have great respect for its host community, Bonny Kingdom and it various constituents, and, especially, the Amanyanabo and Natural Ruler of the kingdom, His Majesty, King Edward 1st.

Managing Director of EGSL, Peter Esievo, who said this in a telephone interview with Kristina Reports on Saturday, May 1, 2021 in Port Harcourt, stated that it continues to remain a law abiding corporate citizen while adhering to global best practices in the conduct of its business.

“Evomec have great respect for this great Kingdom. Long live the great King!”

Esievo was reacting to insinuations in some quarters that Evomec invaded and made illegal incursion into land allegedly belonging to Jumbo Major House of Bonny Kingdom in the course of an earth moving/site preparation project it was executing for its clients, the Nigeria LNG and its engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor, Saipem Chiyoda and Daewoo Joint Venture (SCD JV) at the Workers camp area of Bonny island.

The EGSL boss denied any such allegation, stressing that “Evomec didn’t invade any land as she cannot do so. Evomec remains a law abiding company that has 100% respect for this great Kingdom”.

He emphasized that the company has continued to enjoy the goodwill and positive disposition of the people of Bonny due to its high performance rating with regards to its strategic engagement and discharge of its corporate social responsibilities across the kingdom.

“Evomec is a Bonny company and the love and care she has enjoyed and still enjoying from the Kingdom is unquantifiable.”

“The thing is Evomec is a subcontractor in this instance. The job owners are NLNG or SCD JV, both of them.”

He further stressed that Evomec continues to respect the Amanyanabo and Natural Ruler of Bonny Kingdom, His Majesty, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, CON, Perekule XI, and the Chiefs of Bonny Kingdom; and, by extension, its host community.

He assured that the company will never act in any way to jeopardize the existing peace and security in Bonny LGA, noting that “Evomec will continue to strategically engage relevant stakeholders in the course of doing its business”.

He appealed for collective approach to developmental issues, pointing out that this would serve to incentivize investments in the area as more investors would be attracted.

“We all should embrace meaningful development and this remains the only way to encourage investors to invest in our land.”

Checks by Kristina Reports indicate that some leaders of the Jumbo Major House of Bonny Kingdom had during the week visited the project site of EGSL for an on-the-spot assessment of allegations of land encroachment by Evomec Global Services Limited.

Sources told Kristina Reports that the delegation was received by an official of Evomec, Timothy Iginigba, who promised to advance their grievances to the management of the company for appropriate action.

Evomec Global Services Limited is said to have acquitted itself well in the discharge of its corporate social responsibility evidenced in its multifarious social impact initiatives and projects spread across Bonny LGA.
