Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike minutes ago announced that he has placed a curfew on Bonny Local Government Area and Onne Community in Eleme Local Government Area.
The Governor said the curfew, which will run from 8pm to 6am, will come into effect from Friday, July 10, 2020 until further notice.
He stated that the curfew among other measures were necessary in the efforts of the State Government to flatten the curve of the Covid-19 pandemic in the State.
The State Chief Executive had earlier placed a total lockdown on Bonny LGA and Onne Community in Eleme LGA between Sunday, June 21, 2020 and Tuesday, July 7, 2020 due to increasing spread of the coronavirus in those areas.
