170 Bonny Entrepreneurs Receive ₦1 Million Grant Each in Major Empowerment Drive
In a bold move to stimulate local economic growth and strengthen small businesses, the Administrator of Bonny Local Government Area, Kingsley Banigo, has disbursed ₦170 million in business support grants to 170 entrepreneurs across the LGA.
The disbursement of the funds took place on Friday, June 13, 2025 at Wing B of the Government Lodge in Bonny, Rivers State.

The Administrator, Kingsley Banigo revealed that each beneficiary received ₦1 million under the Local Government Business Support Empowerment Programme.
The initiative, described as a strategic effort to “strengthen the capacity of small businesses, enhance productivity, and drive inclusive economic development,” is one of the largest direct financial interventions in the history of Bonny Local Government.




Speaking during the presentation ceremony on Friday, June 13, 2025, Mr. Banigo emphasized his administration’s commitment to empowering grassroots entrepreneurs.
“In reflecting on our achievements so far, I am proud to say we are making significant progress in fulfilling the mandate entrusted to us by the State Administrator. This disbursement is a testament to our belief in the potential and resilience of our people,” the Administrator stated.

















He also encouraged beneficiaries to use the funds wisely and become agents of growth within their communities.
“We are committed to creating an enabling environment where businesses can thrive. I encourage all beneficiaries to invest wisely, scale sustainably, and serve as role models within their communities,” he added.
The ₦170 million grant programme marks a significant step in Mr. Banigo’s broader economic vision for the area, one that focuses on building a vibrant, self-sustaining local economy powered by empowered citizens.
