Joseph Mukan, Rivers State Commissioner of Police, has put another notorious leader of a criminal gang terrorizing the Ahoada axis of the State on notice that having decimated Honest Degbara, also known as Boboski, his men are on to him and gang.

Mukan, who more or less declared war on criminal gangs in the State today, stated that with Honest Degbara, also known as Boboski, dead, the next criminal to go down would be the one with the alias ‘VIP’, as well as his gang.

In the same veing, a native of Oyorokoto, who craved anonymity, has called on the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mukan to beam his searchlight on the Andoni River and surrounding communities which were currently under siege by a criminal gang led by another kidnap kingpin with alias ‘Honourable’.

The State Police Chief read this riot act to criminal elements in the State while briefing the Press at the State Police Command Headquarters at Moscow Road, Port Harcourt.

Expressing appreciation to the State Governor, Nyesom Wike for redeeming the N50 million bounty he placed on the head of Boboski, maintained that the Nigeria Police will continue to partner with the public to wipe out all criminal elements.

He assured the people of Rivers State that the Police will not relent in its duty to ensure a crime-free and safe atmosphere for people to go about their normal businesses, stressing that his officers and men did not sleep over the case to bring down Boboski, adding that the Police exhibited high level of professionalism throughout the operation.

Earlier, the State Governor, Nyesom Wike redeemed the N30 million bounty he promised anyone who gives information that will lead to the capture of the notorious criminal called Boboski.

Presenting the cheque to the State Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mukan, on behalf of the security personnel and the whistle blower in Port Harcourt, Wike, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr Tammy Danagogo praised the Police for the capture of Boboski.

The State Chiief Executive said that he was elated that the Nigeria Police Force and the public worked assiduously to ensure the capture of the criminal, emphasizing that his administration will leave no stone unturned to ensure the safety of all Rivers people.

“Governor Wike will continue to stand by his words, as this is not the first time such redemption is occurring in the State. If we can recall when the Governor made a promise over Don Wani, a criminal who disturbed the peace of ONELGA, all security agencies and citizenry were activated to capture him, and the pledge was also redeemed”, he said.

“I thank the police officers for the gallantry in arresting the criminals and I also thank the informants who cannot be mentioned here.”

The Andoni native, who spoke to Kristina Reports over the phone, pleaded with the various security agencies to come to their aid as this criminal gang has been terrorizing the area, robbing, maiming, killing and kidnapping for ransom, explaining that their reach extends from the Oyorokoto fishing settlement to the boundary with Bonny LGA.

“When our people go to fishing and return, they come and rob them of their catch and any money they have sold. They also go to the Bonny side, all those Bonny villages and steal from them, rape their women and girls, and in some cases kill anybody that tries to challenge them.”

“If you come here now, you will be smelling the odour of dead bodies that have decayed, some in the river, and some inside the bush, people they have killed,” he stressed.

Recall that daredevil hoodlums believed to have come from the Asarama-Toru axis attacked a funeral at Banigo Isile-Ogono in Bonny LGA on Saturday, September 12, 2020, inflicting gunshot wounds on mourners and abducting four titled citizens of Bonny Kingdom.

Five days after, no word has been heard from the kidnappers neither have the families of the victims been able to speak with their loved ones.
