WAMASON President Felicitates with Nigerians at 65th Independence, Advocates Environmental Responsibility for National Growth

The President of the Waste Management Association of Nigeria (WAMASON), Chief Akpabio Ndarake Essien, has extended warm felicitations to Nigerians on the nation’s 65th Independence anniversary, urging citizens to embrace unity and environmental responsibility as part of nation-building.

In a goodwill message made available to Kristina Reports, Chief Essien described Nigeria’s 65 years of independence as a remarkable journey of resilience and transformation, noting that sustainable development can only be achieved when environmental management is prioritised.

“As we mark Nigeria at 65, we must not only celebrate our freedom but also reflect on the responsibilities that come with nationhood. Clean, safe, and sustainable environments are the foundation of healthy living and economic growth. Every Nigerian has a role to play in ensuring our communities remain habitable and productive.”

Chief Essien stressed that WAMASON under his leadership is committed to supporting government and private sector initiatives aimed at modernising waste management, creating jobs, and promoting recycling as a tool for economic empowerment.

“Our association is focused on building systems that protect the environment while driving opportunities for employment and innovation. This is how we contribute to the vision of a greater Nigeria,” he added.

He called on Nigerians to remain united in purpose and to see environmental cleanliness as a patriotic duty that reflects love for country.

Chief Essien concluded with prayers for peace, stability, and prosperity, describing Nigeria at 65 as a celebration of resilience, responsibility, and the enduring spirit of her people.
