Tragedy struck in Isseke Community in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State as yet-to-be-identified gunmen wiped out the family of a community leader identified as Ichie Kennedy Igboanugo.

The community was thrown into mourning on Thursday, May 22, 2025 as Ichie Igboanugo, who is the Ekwuru Isseke, Ichie Akuruo-Ulo 1 of Isseke Community, his two wives and daughter were slaughtered by the hoodlums.

A member of the community, who spoke to Kristina Reports on condition of anonymity, said the gunmen came into the late Ichie Igboanugo’s compound and accused him of giving out information to the military about their activities.

Not paying to his pleas and denials, the hoodlums, who have been terrorising the community, instantly shot and killed the man along with his wife and two children.

The source stated that the whole community has been living in fear since the incident, calling on the state and federal governments to come to their rescue as they do not know who will be the next victim.
