Umuaka Community Declares ₦25m Bounty on Five Indigenes
The Umuaka community in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State has placed a ₦25 million bounty on five of its indigenes accused of violent crimes.
The announcement was issued on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, through a notice circulated on social media.

According to the statement, the wanted suspects are linked to offences including murder, kidnapping, rape, and armed robbery. Each carries a ₦5 million reward for information leading to their arrest.
The community alleged that the individuals had long terrorised residents despite previous interventions, adding that they often masquerade as Biafran agitators while engaging in criminal acts that have instilled fear across Umuaka.
“The Umuaka community is determined to end the activities of these individuals. Anyone with credible information should assist the security agencies by calling the hotlines provided. A reward of five million naira will be given for each suspect arrested,” the statement read.
The move has generated widespread reactions, with many residents describing it as a bold step to restore peace and security in Njaba.
Security agencies are yet to release an official response to the development.
