In a shocking revelation, Nigerian music star Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has opened up about his recent encounter with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Speaking exclusively to City FM Lagos, Rudeboy disclosed that his twin brother, Peter Okoye, was behind the petition that led to his investigation by the anti-graft agency.

According to Rudeboy, the EFCC invited him earlier this year based on allegations of fraudulent activities, allegedly petitioned by his twin brother, Peter.

The singer expressed disbelief at the situation, stating, “I never thought it [our dispute] would escalate to this level. I always thought it was about music.”

Detailing his experience with the EFCC, Rudeboy recounted being summoned to explain every transaction documented in his bank statements.

He expressed initial shock, contemplating what might have transpired had he been guilty of the accusations. “What if I was into fraud? That’s how my brother would have finished me?” he questioned.

Despite enduring the investigation process, which included legal consultations and providing sureties, Rudeboy was eventually cleared of all allegations.

He shared, “One month ago, they called me, my twin brother, and our elder brother Jude Okoye, and confirmed that after thorough investigation, I am innocent. Everything they accused me of was thoroughly investigated and found baseless.”

However, Rudeboy expressed disappointment that his twin brother, Peter, did not apologize for the false accusations even after his innocence was established.
