Chairman of the Independent Newspaper Publishers Association of Rivers State (RIVPA), Gloria Harry has called on philanthropists, corporate bodies, and the government to exhibit the compassion and empathy consistent with the Easter season by providing succour and support to the socially challenged.

Harry made this call on Friday, April 18, 2025 during a visit to the Port Harcourt Safe Home where she donated food items and clothing.

This gesture was part of the activities marking the Easter celebration and commencement of the transition for the RIVPA State Executive Council under her leadership, with their tenure concluding on May 11, 2025.

Commending the management of the Port Harcourt Safe Home, Harry lauded their efforts in creating a welcoming and secure sanctuary for residents seeking refuge at the facility.

Responding to the donation, the Matron of the Safe Home, Margaret Abi, expressed her sincere gratitude to RIVPA for their generosity.

Abi explained that the Port Harcourt Safe Home serves as a crucial shelter for vulnerable children rescued from human trafficking, victims of domestic abuse, and missing children.
