It is raining deals in the camp of Rivers United as they unveiled Evans Ogenyi as the new Chief coach of the side and also announced an addition of six players to the squad.
Evans Ogenyi was appointed following Fatai Osho’s departure to Akwa United at the end of the 2022-23 NPFL season. The new Chief Coach expressed his delight to be part of the club and the ease of his decision.
“After speaking with Coach Stanley Eguma, it was a really easy decision to join the coaching set-up here,
“It’s an exciting time to become part of this great team and I’m looking forward to working with everyone more closely on and off the pitch.
“I love this club and it’s such a great feeling to be here.”
Evans Ogenyi was a former manager of Warri Wolves, Lobi Stars and most recently Kano Pillars, guiding them back to the NPFL.
To the players
Echeta Deputy has joined Rivers United from Bendel Insurance. The 22-year-old was a crucial part of the Benin Arsenals squad and is set for a new adventure.

The 29-year-old Ivorian Foward will be Rivers United’s new No.26. His last stint was with the South African outfit, TS Galaxy. He previously played for ASEC Mimosas and TAS Casablanca.
Ebedebiri Endurance joins Rivers United from Bayelsa United. The defender also had a spell with Lobi Stars.
The defender has made a move from Rangers International to the Port-Harcourt based side. He previously played for Enyimba FC. He is a Centre-back who can also play as a right-back.
The Midfielder joined Rivers United from Enyimba FC and will wear the number 14 shirt. He is a versatile player who can play as Defensive Milfielder, Central Midfielder
Attacking Midfielder.
David is a Centre-Back, who can play as a defensive Midfielder and a Right-Back. He last played for Enyimba International FC.
