The result leaves Rivers United looking ahead to their return leg at home in Uyo on Sunday, February 1.

Finidi George Breaks Down the Power Dynamos Draw

“It’s not the result that we wanted, but I felt it was a difficult game for us,” Finidi said in the post-match press conference. He explained that Rivers United aimed to contain their opponents in the first half but were pushed back in the second, with Power Dynamos taking control.

Finidi highlighted the lessons from the match, noting that while the draw was acceptable, the team is not entirely satisfied.

“This draw would have been a good result if we had won against Berkane. In the last one minute of extra time, we conceded two goals. If we had won that game, this draw would have been perfect,” he added.

Rivers United Focus on Home Advantage

Looking ahead, Rivers United is determined to make the most of their home advantage against Power Dynamos. Finidi emphasised that playing in Uyo will be a different experience.

“We’re going back home to face the same team. We know we are stronger at home. We’re not quite happy with how everything has turned out, but we have to think about the next match at home and how we can win,” he said.

The coach stressed the intensity of Power Dynamos’ style but remains confident in his team’s capability.

The NPFL leaders will be approaching their home game strategically, aiming for their first win in the CAF Champions League this season.
