Finima Community in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State under the leadership of its Amadabo, Aseme Alabo Dagogo Lambert Brown, Kongo XVII, has applauded the State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara for the smooth conduct of the just concluded local government elections in the State.
In a statement he personally signed and made exclusively available to Kristina Reports on Sunday, October 20, 2024 in Bonny, Rivers State, Aseme Alabo Brown extolled the Governor’s commitment to the mainstreaming of democratic tenets, which, according to him, was demonstrated in the success of the polls.
“The people of Finima in Bonny Local Government Area heartily congratulate His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, Governor of Rivers State, on the successful conduct of the local government election, which culminated in the emergence of 23 council Chairmen and 319 councillors across the State.
“The conduct of the election, which has been adjudged as the best in the history of Rivers State, is a testament to Your Excellency’s commitment to democratic tenets.”
Aseme Alabo Brown, who is also the Chief and Head of the Buoye Omuso Brown Major House in Bonny Kingdom, also congratulated the Chairman of Bonny LGA, Anengi Claude-Wilcox, on her victory at the polls and subsequent inauguration by the State Governor.
This is just as he also congratulated the Councillor representing Ward 5 Finima, Sotonye Brown, on his victory at the polls, and emergence as representative of Ward 5 Finima in the Bonny Legislative Assembly, which he described as “the single largest ward in Bonny LGA and third largest ward in Rivers State”.
The traditional ruler wished the Bonny LGA Chairman and Ward 5 Councillor a successful tenure in their respective offices, expressing the hope that they will use their respective offices for the greater of the people by delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.
“We also use this opportunity to congratulate the newly elected Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Dame Anengi Barasua Claude-Wilcox, DSSRS, on her success at the polls and subsequent inauguration by Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
“Our felicitations also go to the Councillor representing Ward 5- Finima, Hon. Sotonye Brown for emerging victorious during the local government election.
“Our prayers and expectations are for God’s wisdom and guidance to Dame Anengi Claude-Wilcox and Hon. Sotonye Brown while in office, as well as using their respective offices for the greater good of the people and bring forth dividends of democracy that will directly benefit our people.”
The local government elections, which have been described as unprecedented and the most peaceful, free, fair and credible in the history of Nigeria, held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 across the 23 local government areas in the State.
The successful chairmanship candidates at the polls were subsequently sworn into office by Governor Siminalayi Fubara on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Government House, Port Harcourt, who in turn inaugurated the Councillors in the various LGAs, as well as their cabinets.
