NPFL24: Rangers International Win Eight Title with a Game to Spare

Rangers International Football Club, on Sunday, June 17, 2024, won the Nigeria Premier Football League title for the eight time, following a 2-0 victory over Bendel Insurance.

The matchday 37 of 38 victories meant that the 67 points accumulated by the Enugu-based side could not be surpassed. Remo Stars who were going toe to toe with the champions in the title chase, failed to win on Sunday to keep the competition alive, As well as the 2022/23 champions Enyimba who lost to Sporting Lagos in Aba.

Rangers International led by Fidelis Ikechukwu, went on a 10-game unbeaten run this season and put up fine performances season-long. They will now represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League next season.

Rangers International has won the NPFL title on eight occasions, 1974, 1975, 1977, 1981, 1982, 1984, 2016 and 2024, only Enyimba (9) has won more league titles than the Enugu-based side.
