My name is Anthony Johnson Banigo from Mie-Arubo-Ama kindred of the Banigo Major House of Grand Bonny Kingdom.
I obtained my First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) after my primary education at Model Primary School, Bonny, from whereafter, I proceeded to the Community Secondary School (CSS), Bonny, where I obtained the West African School Certificate (WASC).
I hold a Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) degree in Environmental Engineering from the Department of Agriculture and Environmental Engineering of Rivers State University (RSU).
After my University education I registered for and was trained in Heat, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technology, whereupon I obtained an International Vocation Qualification (IVQ) Diploma in HVAC Engineering.
Beyond the strict rudiments of my Engineering background, I undertook a course in Project Management in which I qualified as a London City & Guilds certified Project Administrator with an IVQ Advanced Diploma Certificate.
Similarly, I hold a Diploma in Management and Leadership, from the Chartered Institute of Management and Leadership, Lexington, Kentucky, USA.
Armed with the above qualifications, I have since taken up employment with the Nigerian Federal Civil Service as a Higher Technical Officer and Part-Time Lecturer with the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny, Rivers State.
In the spirit of entrepreneurial development of Nigeria, as advocated for by the leadership of our country, I am also a private business operator.
I have, in the course of my adult life, believed in a personal philosophy, which is “Service is incomplete without service to community”. It was for this reason that I presented my humble self for community service as the Director of Manpower in the Bonny Youth Federation election of 2019, where I was voted for through the instrumentality of grace by our very respected delegates.
Since then, community service had attracted the need for adherence to the rules of engagement, principles, and competencies in the employment cloud which, by my assessment, I have not fared badly.
While challenges were littered along the path, I pressed on, holding tight the vision that the Bonny man deserves more and better. This vision is graciously at the mountain top beholding our pasture and by our collaboration we shall get to our Canaan where we will bless God to say our journey towards development of Bonny Kingdom was indeed an act of destiny, as our names shall be engraved on the Mable of patriots.
Anthony Banigo, Leader-Elect, Bonny Youth Federation (BYF)
