The family of late Chima Ikwunado, the auto mechanic who was allegedly tortured to death by operatives of the Eagel Crack Squad of the Nigeria Police Force, Rivers State Command have been assured that an autopsy will be conducted on the body of their son.
The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Mustapha Dandaura, who gave this assurance today when he met with the family of the late auto mechanic, said that the autopsy will be carried out in the presence of the family’s doctor on Monday, February 10, 2020.
In attendance at the meeting called by the State Commissioner of Police to broker peace were the General Overseer of Omega Power Ministry (OPM) Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, the Paramount Ruler of Ubima Community in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, Eze Iheanyi Williams, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Administration), Deputy Commissioner of Police (State Criminal Investigation Department), the owner of the car allegedly used to arrest the late Chima Ikwunado, and the four men charged to arrested along with Chima.
Dandaura assured the family and those present that investigation has commenced into the matter as all the officers involved have been in detention upon their arrival from Abuja where they had earlier met with the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.
He explained that he aware of the case on social media before calling the attention of the E-Crack Commander, assuring that if any of the officers involved in the case are found culpable they would face the law.
