40 Hours Down as John Obot Begins Attempt at Breaking GWR on Longest Reading Hours

John Obot who began his attempt to break the business world record for the longest hours of reading aloud on Saturday September 9 2023 is about 40 hours in at the time of this report.

John, who is a member of the Uyo Book Club, is set to read 42 books between Saturday, September 9 2023 and Friday, September 15 2023. He is on his 9th  book currently and is going strong.

The attempt witnessed an influx of people who have come to support John as well as be a part of this record-breaking attempt.

Well-Wishers and supporters including government officials and influential individuals in the State have been present at the Letters House which is the venue of this attempt and more people are expected to be present in the course of this week.

The record is currently being held by Rysbai Isakov from turkey who read for 124 hours in 2022.

Witnesses to this attempt have expressed joy and satisfaction in Mr. Obot’s reading, stating that his reading paints an accurate picture of the story being told.

Consultee, one of the supporters explained that Mr John Obot has rejuvenated his love for fiction and also commended his choice of books.

“John Obot has rekindled my interest in fiction, the collections of books is a wow. I love the stories.”

Wisdom Peter also applauded Mr. Obot’s choice of books and called on individuals to support him as he embarks on achieving this great feat.
