IWD 2025: King Edward Celebrates Women’s Contributions, Hails Bonny Women Forum’s Advocacy

In a heartfelt goodwill message marking the 2025 International Women’s Day, the Amanyanabo and Natural Ruler of Grand Bonny Kingdom, His Majesty, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, CON, DSSRS, JP, Edward I, Perekule XI, has celebrated the women of Bonny Kingdom for their commitment excellence in diverse fields of endeavour.

The Bonny Monarch also praised the Bonny Women Forum (BWF) led by the Women Leader of Bonny Kingdom, Amaopuorubo Helen Jack-Wilson Pepple for its tireless advocacy for the empowerment and progress of women in the Kingdom.

Addressing the women of Bonny Kingdom, the revered Monarch celebrated their resilience, leadership, and vital roles in shaping the community, acknowledging their contributions in education, business, and cultural preservation, emphasizing that women remain the backbone of society. 

He lauded the organization’s efforts in fostering unity and mentorship, noting its significant impact on the Kingdom’s development, referencing this year’s International Women’s Day theme, “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress” the King underscored the importance of creating opportunities for women to thrive.

He assured them of his continued support in building an inclusive society where every Bonny woman can reach her full potential, calling on the women of Bonny Kingdom to sustain their quest for unity, innovation, and the upholding of the Kingdom’s values of peace and excellence.

“My beloved daughters, sisters, and mothers of Bonny Kingdom, 

On this special occasion of International Women’s Day, I extend my warmest greetings and deepest appreciation to all the remarkable women of Bonny Kingdom. Today, we honor your strength, resilience, and invaluable contributions to our families, communities, and the progress of our great Kingdom. 

Women have always been the backbone of our society, playing vital roles in leadership, education, business, and cultural preservation. Your unwavering commitment to excellence and service continues to inspire and uplift our land. 

I wish to specially recognize the Bonny Women’s Forum for its tireless efforts in advocating for the empowerment and well-being of our women. Your dedication to fostering unity, mentorship, and economic growth among Bonny women is truly commendable. Through your initiatives, you have strengthened the voice of our women and contributed immensely to the development of our Kingdom. 

This year’s theme, “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress,” reminds us that when we support and empower women, we create a stronger and more prosperous society. As your King, I remain committed to promoting an environment where every Bonny woman has the opportunity to thrive, lead, and achieve her full potential. 

I encourage you all to continue breaking barriers, embracing innovation, and upholding the values of peace, unity, and excellence that define us. Your contributions are invaluable, and your dreams are valid.
