Hit the Ground Running, Obi to Buhari, New Governors

A former Governor of Anambra State and vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi has charged President Muhammadu Buhari and the 29 State Governors sworn in yesterday to hit the ground running.

 

In a statement released by his Media Officer, Val Obienyem on the commemoration of Nigeria’s 20 years uninterrupted democracy from 1999 to 2019, Obi urged the Governors to accelerate activities that would position the nation on a path to growth.

“You are embarking on a serious journey. Our country is today negative in all indices of development. Our power sector, security, health sector are crying for regeneration. Today, the unemployment rate in the country is alarming.”

 

“How you start will define how you will continue and probably end”.

He pointed out that the electoral process is far from what is expected and requested for urgent attention on the process to avoid the country from falling apart.

 

He reiterated his commitment and support for the new Governors urging them to answer to the demands and plights of the people.
