Super Falcons forward Gift Monday has reignited her scoring form, netting a crucial goal to help Washington Spirit secure a 2-0 win over Bay FC on Sunday evening.
The 24-year-old Nigerian international entered the match in the 84th minute, replacing Leicy Santos, and wasted no time leaving her mark.

Within three minutes, Gift capitalised on a rebound to double Washington Spirit’s lead, hammering the ball into the net and marking her 12th goal since joining the club last spring.
Washington Spirit had controlled the game from the outset, dominating possession and creating numerous scoring opportunities.
Despite their dominance, the first half ended scoreless. The breakthrough came in the 58th minute when a misdirected clearance from Bay FC’s Jordan Silkowitz deflected off Brooklyn Courtnail and found the back of the net, giving Spirit a 1-0 advantage.
