D’Tigers guard, Gabriel Nnamdi Vincent, has been cleared to feature for the Los Angeles Lakers when they go up against NBA Champions, Denver Nuggets at the Ball Arena in Colorado on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
Gabe Vincent who was recently acquired by the Los Angeles Lakers from Miami Heats, was sidelined for most part of the preseason due to a back injury but has been cleared right in time for the start of the regular season and would be a boost for his side on the road versus the Denver Nuggets.
He practiced on Saturday and Los Angeles coach Darvin Ham described Vincent as being “in the clear.”
Vincent was held out of Thursday’s preseason game against the Phoenix Suns. At that time, Ham termed it a precautionary move and said it was to make sure Vincent would be healthy for the opener in Denver.
The Nigerian guard had a good showing In his last game, which was a 109-101 win over the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, where he racked 18 points, 7-of-12 field-goal shooting and 4-of-8 from 3-point range.
His defence, as well as his ability to hit outside shots and occasionally handle the ball, will be key to the Lakers’ chances of winning the NBA championship this season.
