As part of the week-long activities, the council election is a key highlight of the 2025 Nigerian Public Relations Week taking place in the Akwa Ibom State capital.

In a statement issued by the Director of the Paulinus Nsirim Re-election Campaign Organisation, Dr. Lawrence Dike, the electoral process will commence on Monday with the presentation of manifestos at Ceedepag Hotel and Suites, Uyo.

Dr. Dike emphasized that Pastor Nsirim remains a strong contender in the race and underscored the need to sustain the momentum achieved by the current NIPR leadership led by Dr. Ike Neliaku.

“You don’t change a winning team,” he stated, “rather, you strengthen it to deliver more results for the institute.”

Describing Mr. Nsirim as a seasoned professional with a wide-reaching network in both the media and public relations landscape, the statement highlighted his immense contributions to the NIPR Rivers State Chapter and the broader PR industry.

Nsirim, who is a clergy and a former Chairman of the NIPR Rivers State Chapter, and Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Rivers State Council, also served as Chief Press Secretary to three former governors of Rivers State.

Speaking on his aspiration, Pastor Nsirim expressed confidence that his vast experience as a media and public relations consultant will be instrumental in consolidating the achievements of the current Council while expanding new frontiers in leadership and strategic networking within the profession.

The climax of the election will be the formal inauguration of the new Council members during the AGM on Thursday, May 22, 2025.
