The frontline aspirant for the Degema/Bonny federal constituency seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Inye Marshall Harry says his primary focus when elected to represent the constituency would be to pursue advocacy that would improve the lives of the people and enhance their economic wellbeing.

Harry, who at the moment is the preferred choice for majority of the party’s delegates in Bonny and Degema Local Government Areas, in a chat with Kristina Reports in Bonny Island on Saturday, September 29, 2018, said issues affecting the people of the area would be mainstreamed at the Green Chamber.

He enumerated implementation of the local content laws in the employment system by multinationals operating in the area, engagement of indigenous firms in the allocation of opportunities in the oil and gas sector, sustainable constituency projects as some of his priority tasks when elected.

The aspirant, who is the son of a former National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the late Marshall Harry, was in Bonny Island as part of sustained consultations with party delegates and other key stakeholders ahead of the party primary scheduled to hold in Degema on Tuesday, October 2, 2018.

The elder Harry, while alive, was a close friend of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Addressing a cross section of delegates from across the 12 wards of Bonny LGA, Inye Marshall Harry assured the delegates that he was the only aspirant capable of defeating any of the aspirants who would emerge candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

At the moment, the member of representing the Degema/Bonny federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Randolph Brown is up against the member representing Degema constituency in the State House of Assembly, Farah Dagogo. Tuesday’s primary will decide who flies the PDP flag in the 2019 polls.

Kristina Reports has reliably learnt that Dagogo was reportedly the preferred aspirant of the state Governor, Nyesom Wike. When contacted, brown debunked the insinuation, saying there was no truth it.

He added that he was ready to face anyone in primary and eventually at the election.

In their response, many of the delegates, who spoke with Kristina Reports asserted that Inye Marshall Harry was the only aspirant known to them, assuring him of their support during the primary.
