Operatives of the Office of the Special Adviser on Central Business District (CBD) on Friday, sealed some shops within the Lagos Island Business District for violating the state’s order on COVID-19 trading hours as part of efforts to contain the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Olugbenga Oyerinde, Special Adviser to the Governor on Central Business Districts who disclosed this, traders whose shops were sealed were caught selling beyond the 3:00pm stipulated closing time.

While decrying the nonchalant attitude of some traders towards obeying the COVID-19 directives, Oyerinde declared that his office will enforce all the health safety guidelines issued by the State government as part of precautionary measures in flattening the curve of the coronavirus in Lagos.

“We call on traders and visitors as well as business owners within the business district to adhere strictly to the stipulated COVID-19 directives issued by the Lagos State Government and relevant authorities,” he said.
