Following the death of Abia State Commissioner for Environment, Solomon Ogunji and the outcome of tests conducted on his close family members, the State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has directed all those who might have recently come in contact with the deceased to immediately undergo COVID-19 tests and self-isolate.

The late Abia State Executive Council and Inter-Ministerial Committee on COVID-19 member, Solomon Ogunji, died on Sunday, May 24, 2020.

The State Commissioner for Information, John Kalu disclosed that Ikpeazu, who was still in mourning, will also subject himself to all other necessary protocols as he has directed his executive council members, including the State Deputy Governor, to do.
