Christmas: 146 Battalion Nigerian Army Fetes Communities, Stakeholders at End of Year Event

In the spirit of celebration of the Yuletide season, the 146 Battalion of the Nigerian Army in Bonny, Rivers State, hosted members of various communities, sister security services, its officers and men, as well as other stakeholders to an end of year event.

Commanding Officer of the 146 Battalion, Lt. Col. Habeeb Mbe said the event was in appreciation of the efforts of key and strategic stakeholders in the actualization the strategic vision and operational direction of the Chief of Army Staff.

He stated that it was also an opportunity to thank the troops for their commitment to the emplacement of security governance in its general area of operation which has ensured the communities in Bonny LGA and its neighbours can peacefully enjoy the Yuletide season.  

Among the dignitaries in attendance at the event were the Divisional Police Officer of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Finima Division; Usman Sadiq, Divisional Officer of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC); Donald Gbarale, and representatives of the Commanding Officer, Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base, Bonny, and Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC); Lt. Cdr. Muhammad Bello, and CRC James Udoh, respectively.

Others were the Publisher/CEO of Kristina Reports; Godswill Jumbo, representatives of the Commander, National Drug Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Eyam Ogar, Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG), Bonny, Finima, Igbo, Yoruba, Northern and other communities, and the Chairman, Shedrack Brown, and some executives of the Finima Youth Congress (FYC), amongst others.

Comedian INEC provided humour for guests during the event while winners also emerge from dancing competitions for different age categories with rewards presented to them by the Commanding Officer and the Finima DPO.

Various food items including bags of rice and other condiments were also donated to residents of communities around the the F.H. Yahaya Base, home of the 146 Battalion.

There was also sumptuous and lavish food and drinks for guests as well as good music to which the 146 Battalion CO led his personnel to revel in on the dance floor.
