The security agencies need the cooperation of all stakeholders including the public to curb the rising spate of insecurity, as such everyone should avail them the support they need to fight security challenges confronting the society.
This was the position of the Chairman of the Rivers State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Stanley Job Stanley, recently.
The Rivers NUJ Chairman called on Christian communities to join hands with the security agencies and the government to reduce the issues of insecurity affecting in the state.
He said this shortly after receiving an award of pioneer excellence at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Ihuaba in Ahoada-East Local Government Area of the State.
Stanley also called on parents to advise their children to shun all forms of violence and embrace peace in the society.
He dedicated the award conferred on him by the Women’s Guild of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Ihuaba, in the Upata Archdeaconry of the Diocese of Ahoada-East to God.
The Vicar of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Ihuaba in Ahoada-East Local Government Area, Umegbewe Eugene Jerome also called on the members of the public to support the law enforcement agencies to save their communities from the issues of kidnapping, armed robbery attacks and cultism, especially, along the East-West Road.
