The Supreme Court of Nigeria has in unanimous judgment affirmed the victory of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara at the March 2023 governorship election.

The apex court delivered its judgment on Thursday, January 25, 2024 in the FCT Abuja.

The Supreme Court dismissed the petition of the All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate, Tonye Cole, in its entirety for lack of merit.

Recall that the Labour Party and Accord Party candidates, Beatrice Itubo and Dumo lulu-Briggs had earlier withdrawn their respective cases against the Governor.

The Governor, Siminialayi Fubara is yet to react to the development.
