Katsina United FC was found to have disregarded the dress code during their 1-0 loss in the MatchDay 11 fixture against Sporting Lagos on Sunday, December 3, 2023.
In a bid to curb unprofessional display in the NPFL, Katsina United FC has been instructed to pay N1 million for the improper exhibition of the player’s name and number. Masudu Lawal, the club’s kit manager was given a one-year ban from all NPFL activities for improper conduct.
The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) had handed out a practice directive to clubs on dress codes for the Technical Crew and Players and are taking steps to ensure they are been adhered to.
Meanwhile in Gombe, after a humiliating loss to Kano Pillars FC, Gombe United FC was fined a total of Seven million Naira and a one-match stadium ban to fans for breaches spanning from disruption of the match by fans throwing objects onto the field of play, to disruption of the live broadcast of the match and failure to provide adequate and adequate security.
In a case arising from MatchDay 10 between Niger Tornadoes FC and Akwa United FC, the former was charged with breach of Rule B8.21, C9 and C1.1 for which it was fined a total of ₦3.250million including compensatory payment to the Centre Referee.
The sanctions comprise of a fine of One million Naira for failure to provide adequate and effective security for Match Officials. Another fine of One million Naira for failure to ensure the proper conduct of its officials (Stewards/Security Personnel). There was a third fine of One million Naira for misconduct and a ₦250,000 compensatory payment to the Referee(Ahmad Rabiu from Kano State Referees Council) for losses resulting from the harassment. The Ahmadu Bello Stadium home ground of Niger Tornadoes FC has been ordered closed to fans for the next three home fixtures of the club.
