Jose Peseiro has exited his role as coach of the Super Eagles following the conclusion of his contract with the NFF.
The Portuguese led the Super Eagles to the final of the African Cup of Nations 2023 where they fell to defeat against the hosts, Ivory Coast.
An AFCON which saw them showcase a dogged and formidable defensive display all through the tournament.
This was disclosed in a post via his handle on X, where he described coaching Nigeria’s men’s national team as a thing of pride and honour.
“Yesterday, we concluded our contract with the NFF. It was a pride and honor to coach the Super Eagles. It has been 22 months of immense dedication, sacrifice, emotion, and enormous enthusiasm. We feel a sense of fulfillment.”

The Portuguese has been linked with a job as the coach of Algeria.
The NFF would now turn their attention to the search for a new gaffer.
