BREAKING! Constance Nwokejiobi Emerges First Female President Of Bonny Chamber Of Commerce

Constance Nwokejiobi has emerged the first female President of the Bonny Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (BonnyChamber).

The outgoing President, Amairigha Hart announced her emergence on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Bonny Chamber in Bonny, Rivers State.

Nwokejiobi, a chartered accountant, ex-banker and astute entrepreneur, is the Chief Executive Officer of Wright Portfolio Consult Ltd, and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).

Until her emergence as President, she was the DIrector General of the Bonny Chamber, a role, knowledgeable sources in the Chamber say she excellently discharged in her four years tenure.

Speaking shortly after her inauguration, the new BonnyChamber President expressed optimism that the chamber will experience a transition within her two-years’ tenure, urging members to join hands with her to achieve set objectives.

“I am appreciating the good people of Bonny. I don’t feel that I am not Bonny. I love that mindset that we want to grow our own. It’s a different ball game in this Chamber of Commerce. Let us grow this chamber.”

“So, I take this as service; hoping that in two years’ time we will transition and get better. So, I urge all of us to join hands. I don’t know it all. You know our style, we will get into a retreat and put out a road map.”

Elected to key positions alongside Nwokejiobi were other notable figures who are expected to bring diverse range of skills and expertise to the BonnyChamber leadership team, and whose commitment and enthusiasm were palpable throughout the AGM.

They include Claudius Wilcox; 1st Deputy President, Joseph Irimagha; 2nd Deputy President, Davies Obioma; Senior Advisor, Economic & Strategic Engagements, George Brown; Senior Advisor, Logistics, Energy & Power, Godswill Jumbo; Senior Advisor, Community & Business Relations, and Dimieari Green, Senior Advisor, Hospitality & Tourism Development.

Other are Carol Allison; Senior Advisor, Membership and Capacity Development, Grace Ikufusile; Senior Advisor, Special Projects & Emerging Businesses, Daniel Onyetulem; Senior Advisor, Medical & Pharmaceutical, Elfrida Jumbo; Senior Advisor, BonnyChamber Women in Business & Welfare, Mike Fubara; Senior Advisor, Intelligence and Security Advisory, and Rufus Green; Treasurer.

Other executives include Walter LongJohn; BonnyChamber Youth Entrepreneurs Coordinator, Sokari Tobin; Associate Advisor/ Trade Group Chairman, Oil & Gas and Energy, Andrew Imolorhe; Associate Advisor/ Trade Group Chairman, ICT Education and Printing, Tumini Mangete, Grace Jumbo, and Kalada Green, as Council Members, Advisory.

Sharing insights into the Chamber’s achievements during his administration, the outgoing President, Amairigha Hart noted that the sterling feats were a consequence of the shared values, cooperative spirit and convergence of efforts of members of the Chamber.

Earlier, new members were inducted into the Chamber which the incoming President described as “a diverse group of passionate individuals and businesses, each bringing unique perspectives and expertise to our vibrant community”.
