It is becoming very apparent that all is not well in the Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as one of its chieftains, George Tolofari has reportedly resigned his membership of the party.
Tolofari, a former Commissioner of Transport in the State, who is believed to be the stabilizing force in the Rotimi Amaechi faction of the party, said in a short message posted online that “I have decided to quit effective immediately”.
“This may come as a surprise to many but regrettably I wish to inform you all personally that I’m no longer convinced remaining in the All Progressives Congress.”
He thanked his erstwhile colleagues in the for their love and support, pledging that he would not take their support for granted.
“Let me thank each and everyone of you for your support and love shown me these past years while we worked together as party men and women.”
“Together we’ve been through a lot and have come out strong in most cases. I can never take your support for granted and will cherish those fond memories.”
George Tolofari was the Chairman of the party’s Elders Council that chose Tonye Cole from among the 19 governorship aspirants and has also been responsible for reaching out to other party chieftains to galvanize them together.
