Dynamic Royal All-Stars Football Club of Bonny emerged winners of the maiden edition of the Easter All-Stars Football Tournament following a 3-1 victory over Titanic Allstars Football Club also of Bonny on Easter Monday

The Tournament, which held at the newly constructed football pitch in Government Lodge Wing B, Bonny, Rivers State on Monday, April 1, 2024, was sponsored by the Leader of the 9th Bonny Legislative Assembly, Larry Ibaningo.

Four teams competed in the tourney, which is first of its kind in Bonny LGA, including Evomec FC, Dynamic Royal All-Stars FC, Titanic All-Stars FC, and White House Int’l Sports Club.

All four teams, comprising ex-soccer players and enthusiasts, brought colour to the event with their incredible display of competitiveness and sportsmanship.

Sunny Pepple of Dynamic Royal All-Stars won the Most Valuable Player award after a dogged showing at the heart of the defense for champions, Dynamic Royal All-Stars, while TrueLove Hart, also of Dynamic All-Stars FC, won the Golden Boot Award with two goals in the final.

The event was graced by a wide range of spectators including the Chairman of Bonny LGA, Anengi Claude-Wilcox, who lauded Ibaningo for the impactful initiative.

Earlier in his opening remark, the convener, Larry Ibaningo disclosed that the tournament was born out of the need to commemorate the Easter celebration, and provide a convivial atmosphere for people to relish towards deepening the unity and peace in Bonny LGA.

The Chairman of the Bonny LGA oversaw the presentation of the trophy to the overall winners, Dynamic Royal All-Stars Football Club and also gave medals to the first runner-up; Titanic All-Stars FC, as well as other deserving players who distinguished themselves in the course of the tournament.

Speaking at the end of the tournament, the Bonny LGA Chairman expressed her delight in associating with the tournament because of its uniting function, as she pledged to support its continuation while announcing more financial donations to the respective winners.
