Bonny LG Chairman Inaugurates CTC Members, Appoints Key Aides, Sacks Some Committees, Retains Others

Members of the newly inaugurated Caretaker Committee of the Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State have been charged to align with the vision of the Committee Chairman, Anengi Claude-Wilcox and support her drive to improve the lives of the people.

Claude-Wilcox gave this charge on Friday, June 21, 2024 while inaugurating the members of the committee at the Government Lodge in Bonny, Rivers State.

Urging them to run at the same pace with her as she intends to improve on her performance in the last administration, and charging them to have oneness of purpose, the Bonny CTC Chairman also used the occasion to thank the State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara for the opportunity accorded her and other CTC members to serve.

Other members of the Caretaker Committee who were inaugurated include Daniel Wilcox-Buruwi, Alali Hart, Doris Hart, Sodienye Pepple, Tamunosa Jumbo, and Lukumanu Sadanu.

The Chief Magistrate of Bonny, Anthony Inko-Tariah, PhD administered the oath of office on the CTC members at the Government Lodge, Bonny.

Claude-Wilcox, who was appointed the CTC Chairman after the expiration of her tenure as Executive Chairman of the LGA, described her return as god’s handiwork at a special Thanksgiving Service at the St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Bonny earlier in the day.  

She thereafter relieved all appointees of their duties, dissolved all committees with exception of the Market Management, Beach Management and Coconut Estate/Sand Dump Management Committees.

She also appointed Ruth Hart as the Secretary to the Bonny Local Government Council, who was also sworn-in immediately by the Chief Magistrate; while the LGA Boss further named the duo of Austin Onu-Pepple and Boma Waribor as her Chief of Staff and Chief Press Secretary, respectively.

Also appointed were the trio of Sotonye Longjohn, Henry Hart and Clement Longjohn as her Media Assistants.

Responding on behalf of his colleagues, Daniel Wilcox-Buruwi pledged their readiness to passionately work with the Chairman for the good of Bonny LGA.

Earlier upon her arrival in Bonny, the CTC Chairman, alongside some former CTC Chairmen, party stakeholders and faithful, and her teeming supporters attended a Special Thanksgiving Service at the St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Bonny where they appreciated God for his mercies, attributing her new appointment as God’s handiwork.

After the church service, the entourage engaged in a celebration walk with over a thousand persons from the Church to Government Lodge where a grand reception was held to welcome the CTC Chairman back to the seat of power in Bonny LGA.
