Embracing this year’s theme, Accelerate Action, she emphasized the urgency of intensifying efforts toward achieving gender equality and creating more opportunities for women to thrive.

Reflecting on the progress made by the Bonny Women Forum (BWF) under her leadership, Amaopuorubo Pepple acknowledged the indispensable contributions of women to the socio-economic fabric of Bonny Kingdom.
She stressed the need to continue pushing for policies and initiatives that provide women with the tools they need to succeed, stating that Bonny women have consistently demonstrated resilience, innovation, and leadership.
Consequently, she asserted that it is the collective responsibility of all stakeholders to ensure the women are provided with equal opportunities to flourish.

She noted that under her leadership, several initiatives have been undertaken by the Bonny Women Forum to promote the empowerment and welfare of women in the kingdom.
The Bonny Women Forum (BWF), which she leads, has continued its commitment to uplifting women through community outreach programs, including direct support for elderly women across Bonny Island, where food, cash, and essential items were distributed to those in need.
She has also played a significant role in preserving and promoting the Iria ceremony, a traditional rite of passage for women in the Ijaw ethnic nationality, ensuring that it remains a symbol of cultural pride and empowerment for young women in Bonny Kingdom.

Through a detailed financial report, she provided an open and honest review of the Bonny Women Forum’s activities, strengthening trust and reinforcing her dedication to responsible leadership.
Pepple called for collective efforts from community leaders, policymakers, and organizations to remove barriers that limit women’s progress. She emphasized that achieving gender equality requires intentional and sustained action from all sectors of society.
