BIRC Chairman Celebrates Amanyanabo at 56; Extols His Philanthropy, Social Impact, Love for Sports

Though royalty by birth, the Amanyanabo and Natural Ruler of Bonny Kingdom, His Majesty, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple, CON, Perekule XI, has not allowed the grandeur, opulence and dignity of his throne to affect his social impact, life transforming and developmental strides across his kingdom.

In fact, he has ensured the sustenance of the care for all his subjects through diverse avenues such as sports, education, philanthropy, and then some.

The Chairman of the Bonny Integrated Recruitment Centre (BIRC), Dagogo Jumbo, popularly known as Opumingi (High tide in Ibani language), stated this during his visit, alongside his friends, to selected schools on Friday, June 11, 2021, to donate branded exercise books to mark the 56th Birthday of the King.

The BIRC Chairman visited the Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS), Finima; Community Secondary School, Abalamabie; Lucille Education Centre (LEC), Bonny, and later joined the National Union of Bonny Students (NUBS), at their get-together at the Bonny Youth Federation (BYF) Secretariat at King Asimini Bypass.

At each stop, dozens of exercise books branded with the memorabilia of the Amanyanabo of Bonny were presented to the staff and students of the respective schools, joint singing of a birthday song in honour of the King, and group photographs with the group.

Speaking, Jumbo extolled the virtues of the revered monarch, noting that his 56th Birthday was a fitting opportunity to eulogize his sterling qualities and affectionate interventions in the lives and circumstances of his subjects and everyone else who is a resident

INSEPARABLLE: A King and his football

He further asserted that King Pepple was a sports lover, who viewed sporting as both a way of exercising the body and also a lifetime career, and played soccer himself as time permits him; stressing that the donation o the exercise books branded with his picture was a way of identifying with him in supporting and promoting education.

After the schools tour, the team went to the football field of the Local Government Industrial Unit (LGIU), Bonny, where they participated in a Novelty Football Match in honour of the Amanyanabo and Natural Ruler of Bonny Kingdom.

The match, which was between the Noble AllStars Football Club and the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas (FPOG) AllStars Football Club, ended 2-1 in favour of the latter team, which two goals were delivered by Jonathan Jacob and Abraham Uwe, while the former’s one goal was scored by Opumingi.

In an interview with Kristina Reports after the novelty football match, Dagogo Jumbo explained that the football match was organized to honour the King, whose love for football was well acclaimed, noting that exercise was good for health and it was apt to have such a match to mark the 56th Birthday Anniversary of the Amanyanabo.

Several groups and institutions of Bonny Kingdom, including youths of the Perekule Royal House, Jumbo Major House, among others, held diverse activities to mark the 56th Birthday of the Amanyanabo and Natural Ruler of Bonny Kingdom.
