Against the backdrop of the recent onslaught against criminal elements terrorizing Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, the LGA Chairman, Dr Chidi Lloyd has called for synergy amongst stakeholders in the area to achieve set objectives.

He disclosed that another member of the dislodged criminal gang responsible for the untimely death of late Justice Azunda, who has been on the run after the killing of his gang leader, Wordi Onuigwe and three others by the Police, was recently apprehended in Oduoha, Emohua LGA.

Dr Lloyd made this call on Monday, July 3, 2023 during a meeting with Councillors, Government Liaison Officers (GLOs) and Ward Chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across the 14 Wards of the LGA at his residence in Akpabu Community in Emohua LGA.

Informing that the arrested suspect was currently undergoing interrogation in police custody, the Emohua LG Chief Executive charged residents and indigenes of Emohua LGA to cooperate with his administration to rid the area of criminal elements, while restating his commitment to the safety of lives and properties.

The former Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly assured that Emohua LGA will continue to witness improved security following the appreciable progress recorded in the war against crime and criminality in the area.

Calling on stakeholders and residents of the area to support the government with reliable information to aid the operations of security personnel deployed to the area, Dr Lloyd reiterated that the fight against insecurity should not be left for government alone, stressing that the safety of lives and properties is a collective responsibility.

“If you see something, say something, that’s the only way to win the war”.

“As you go back to your respective communities, don’t hesitate to call us when you notice any strange movement in any part of the local government area.

The Emohua Council Chairman charged stakeholders, community, leaders, residents, as well as, business operators across the local government area to see themselves as partners in the development of the area.

“We are already making progress in the fight against insecurity but we are not there yet because those who troubled us didn’t act alone and we need to fish all of them out.”

“We will not rest until we get all of them but all hands must be on deck, especially in the area of information gathering.”
