The Media aide to a former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi; Dike Bekwele, and a former Commissioner for Information and Communication in the State, Paulinus Nsirim, were among Public Relations practitioners conferred with the Fellowship of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.
The recent conferments were done during the 2025 Nigeria Public Relations Week organized by the NIPR in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.



Bekwele, who currently lectures in the Department of Marketing, University of Port Harcourt, Choba, is the first faculty staff of any University in Rivers State to be so honoured with a Fellowship of the NIPR.
He holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree (PhD) in Marketing, and currently on his research work for the award of another PhD in Public Relations and was the valedictorian of the class of 2025 Fellows.
Nsirim, who is a former Chairman of the NIPR in Rivers State, was also re-elected as member of the 22-man Governing Council of the NIPR.
He described his reelection as a renewed of his mandate to provide purposeful representation to the Rivers State chapter
Three members of the Rivers State Chapter including Paulinus Nsirim, Dr Otonye Davis and Dr Dike Bekwele were conferred with the Fellowship of the NIPR.
