A STATEMENT ON THE TWO-CENTURIES OLD FRATERNAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HART HOUSE AND BROWN HOUSE

Chief Buoye Omuso Brown (of blessed memory), who by Divine Providence, was the First Recognized Chief of the Buoye Omuso Brown Chieftaincy House of Finima in Bonny Kingdom grew and became man under the tutelage of Chief Captain Adango Hart (of blessed memory) and was CAPPED and INSTALLED Chief and PRESENTED to King Opubo of the Perekule Dynasty for Recognition as an Ama-Alabo (Country Chief) of Bonny Kingdom in 1826. Chief Buoye Omuso Brown was, after his Presentation to the Amanyanabo-in-Council, escorted to his domain, Finima, by a Contingent of Hart House members, the present day Minori Hart Family in Finima, to guard and protect him from his envious and hostile kith and kin, who had earlier on sold him into slavery at the tender age of 9 years, before he was redeemed by King Fubara of the Perekule Dynasty in 1792.

The above record is incontrovertible, and has been admitted by the present day elders of Brown House. This is the origin and genesis of the two-centuries old cordial and remain relationship which has existed between Hart House and Brown House. This relationship does not connote a master-servant relationship. It does not imply the subservience of Brown House to Hart House. It symbolises the pride and joy of a mentor seeing this ward attaining full manhood, and being elevated to the enviable status of a Country Chief of Grand Bonny.

Ever since the Capping and Installation and Presentation of Chief Buoye Omuso Brown by Chief Captain Adango Hart, the Successors to the Stool of Captain Hart Chieftaincy House have cheerfully embraced the privilege and honour of Capping, Installing and Presenting to the Amanyanabo-in-Council, the Successors to Buoye Omuso Brown Chieftaincy House. This was the case on 12th June 1920 when Chief Thomas Berepele Brown was installed to the Chair of his late father, Chief Jack Brown by Chief Samuel Fombo Hart, Jamieson Sagbe Hart and Madam llanye Cookey Gam. History repeated itself again on 9th May 1970, as Chief Josiah Ikoli Hart Capped and installed Chief Israel Idamiebi Brown, as Chief and Head of Buoye Omuso Brown House of Finima in Bonny Kingdom.

Because of the surreptitious and clandestine manner Chief Yibo Buowari Brown was made a Chief in 1996, on the eve of the Proclamation of our reigning Monarch, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, JP, CON, Perekule XI, Natural Ruler and Amanyanabo of Grand Bonny, in order to avoid a court injunction by another faction of the Brown House at that time, Chief Reginald F. P. Hart, Captain Hart XIII, was cut off in the Capping and Installation of Chief Yibo Buowari Brown. The objection and strong protest of Chief Reginald F. P. Hart, Captain Hart XIII, over the unconventional manner of Chief Yibo Buowari Brown’s Capping and Installation, was properly recorded in the minutes of Bonny Chiefs’ Council.

With the preponderance of documentary evidence to the effect that the Chief of Hart House Caps, Installs, and Presents to the Amanyanabo-In-Council the Chief of Brown House, it is inconceivable and unimaginable that the Dagogo Lambert Brown led faction of Brown House will go out of its way to unleash its propaganda machinery in the social, electronic and print media to deny an immutable historical fact!!! It is understandable that this faction of Brown House has chosen to live in self-denial and rewrite history for no other purpose than to promote its separatist agenda and inordinate ambition to unilaterally declare Finima Community independent of Bonny Kingdom!!! As the Titled Citizens’ Assembly of Grand Bonny Kingdom succinctly put it, this faction of Brown House, led by Dagogo Lambert Brown and his cohorts are attempting to “create another kingdom within a Kingdom”.

But this divisive and outlandish plot will fail woefully because Finima people are Bonny (Ibani) people. There are three autonomous Chieftaincy Houses in Finima, namely, Attoni House, Brown House, and Tobin House. They are independent Chieftaincy Houses, each of which has its seat in King Perekule’s Palace. None is subservient to the other. Therefore, this renegade faction of Brown House CANNOT impose its will and desires on the other two independent Chieftaincy Houses. Finima is part and parcel of Bonny Kingdom. It is not “Finima in Bonny Local Government Area” as Dagogo Lambert Brown and cohorts now erroneously coin it to suit their aspirations.

In a weird speech by Dagogo Lambert Brown, on 12th January 2022, he included “Hart-Brown” as one of the seats in his so-called “Council of Aseme-Warialapu”. Such “seat” can only exist as a figment of his imagination. Hart House has NEVER occupied any seat in Buoye Omuso Brown’s Cabinet or “Elders Council”. It is therefore very demeaning and condescending for any Hart House son to accept to occupy a seat in Buoye Omuso Brown’s Cabinet by the name Hart-Brown!!! That is an abominable act. The likes of Amoni Ezekiel-Hart, who have sold their birth right on a mess of porridge, should continue to live in self-delusion, for in the fullness of time the cock will come home to roost.

For the avoidance of that, let it be known by all and sundry, that the Minori Hart Family of Finima, is a properly constituted Burusu in Captain Hart Chieftaincy House. The last Warisenibo to occupy that seat was Samuel Kalaibani Hart, who fully participated in Captain Hart Chieftaincy House deliberations and activities in his lifetime. When he passed on, Chief Hart, Wariseniapu, and Captain Hart House members participated fully in his obsequies, and gave him a befitting burial in Finima. Since then that Minori Burusu Seat in Captain Hart Chieftaincy Cabinet has remained vacant. We know in God’s time there will be a successor to the Minori Burusu Seat in Captain Hart Chieftaincy Cabinet.
