Pastor Caught Burying “Charms” in Compound in Rivers Community to Fake Spiritual Power
The desperation of certain clergymen for material wealth in the religious space have turned negative for a particular pastor and prophet of one of the Pentecostal churches in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria.
In an incident that took place on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at Korokoro community, a distant neighborhood situated across more than eight communities from Nonwa, where he hails from, the ill-fated man of God, Saturday Ntete, was reportedly intercepted, attempting to plant certain spiritual materials in a compound where he allegedly intended to later carry out a spiritual operation.

Residents who suspected the ungodly movement of the prophet, as well as other two young men that had accompanied him and identified as his partners from Sime community, had raised an alarm immediately, alerting neighbours, who together intercepted him and uncovered the spiritual items.
In a video clip shared from the scene of the incident, Pastor Ntete was seen confessing to the act while being interviewed by the residents, who demanded him to tell the purpose of the mission.
He was seen saying “It’s my fault”, as pressure mounted for him to speak up. The people made remarks, expressing shock over the situation and wondering how far the love of money could take someone who calls himself a man of God.

Meanwhile, the palace of the Paramount Ruler of Nonwa community, His Royal Highness, Castro Tomakara Nyiedam, has at the wake of report announced the indefinite suspension of Saturday Ntete as Chief of a unit of the community, Bue-Borobara, to allow an independent investigation of the alleged charm burying act.
The incident raises concerns about allegations that charms are secretly being buried in people’s compounds, which are later exploited by some of these so-called prophets to create fear under the guise of religious or spiritual intervention to make merchandise of their victims.
The statement from the palace containing the suspension of Chief Ntete also asserted the longstanding principles of morality and sanity maintained from time immemorial by the community as handed down by the founding fathers.
“Nonwa Tai Community is a peaceful community that stands for truth, justice, unity, and the protection of lives and property. The Palace will not tolerate any conduct that threatens public peace and urges everyone to remain calm while the matter is properly investigated,” the statement read.
